• Reports/produces investigative stories (long form and quick-turn updates/packages to ongoing stories or deeper dives into breaking news) focusing on accountability in Middle Tennessee and state for Fox 17 News investigative team
• Series of reports revealed statewide increase in "sober" DUI charges, breathalyzers widely no longer used by police, outdated background check impacts, TBI drug test backlog, and introduction of state law aiming for transparency in sober arrests
• Broke investigation into one Middle Tennessee town’s alleged traffic ticket quota, uncovering leaders had more than doubled police budget, funded solely by ticket revenue. After report, town reduced the number of officers
• Series followed police oversight in Nashville after new state law aimed to strip civilian officer oversight boards of power to investigate misconduct claims. My investigation revealed a stark difference in interpretation of the law, as I repeatedly pressed police and the mayor for months on what transparency the city’s Community Review Board would receive from metro police. After a year of stories, the CRB ultimately retained its ability to view police records and video, after initially being refuted by the city’s police department and legal team
-Broke story of whistleblower alleging high-ranking officers worked secretly to pass law weakening police oversight boards, prompting an independent city investigation
• Series focused on legal/mental healthcare loopholes after college student Jillian Ludwig was fatally shot by suspect who was previously let off of shooting charges, deemed mentally incompetent by judge
• Led station coverage on disappearance of Riley Strain, making national headlines. Reports included obtaining exclusive surveillance video of college student who went missing from Nashville’s entertainment district, later to be found deceased in river. Secured exclusive interview of last person to see Strain alive, and directed hard-hitting questions at police revealing potential holes in law enforcement investigation. Following my reports, the city appropriated $1.5 million towards fencing and safety improvements along the riverside
